FAQ
- What is SaaS? How does this relate to Polar?
SaaS or Software as a Service involves a centrally hosted platform that performs resource-intensive calculations. In Polar's instance, the SaaS model is achieved through cloud checks, which significantly reduce CPU usage, as fewer calculations are performed by the plugin.
- Are all checks cloud-based?
No. Checks that require real-time setbacks (such as movement) are performed within the plugin and are not processed on the cloud.
- What Minecraft versions does Polar support?
Versions Minecraft 1.7.10 to Minecraft 1.21.x.
- Does Polar support modern servers running old combat mechanics?
Yes.
- Does Polar support Via plugins?
Yes, Polar has been tested with Via plugins.
- What VL should I ban/punish the player at?
Due to the nature of cloud checks, we do not recommend server admins manually issuing punishments to players.
It is best to let Polar decide. This limits the amount of false punishments that may occur, as Polar only bans when it is 100% sure.
